European can trace its routes back to 1989 when it was launched as
European Aviation.
It was launched by its owner Paul Stoddart.
Its business model was that of ad-hoc charter.
European bought used aircraft from companies across the world to build its fleet.
Aircraft bought were BAC 1-11's, Airbus A300, Boeing 727's, Boeing 737's and Boeing
747's.
In 1993, the airline changed its name to European Aviation Air Charter.
In 2004, the airline was streamlined by selling or scrapping some of its fleet, eventually
leaving the airline with 6 Boeing 737-200's.
It now employs around 300 staff and is still owned and headed by Paul Stoddart.
